Rocket Ronnie Development Notes
When students are enrolled into Guildhall, they are all
considered to be in a Cohort. These Cohorts go through Guildhall's
program taking classes together and working on Team Game Productions or
TGPs. During TGP students learn about SCRUM, milestones, core hours and
working across departments to make a game. After the first 8 weeks in the program a Cohort starts work on their first major game project known as TGP 1.
Rocket Ronnie is a comical 2D platformer game about a redneck who is detained and his beer is confiscated so that he can build homemade rockets for the government. So Ronnie builds his own homemade rocket to combat the government and retrieve his confiscated beer. The main mechanic in Rocket Ronnie allows players to fly around levels with Ronnie's rocket.

I was given the task of creating the initial four tutorial levels that introduce players to our game. In these tutorials I gradually exposed players to the various gameplay elements of Rocket Ronnie. I also implemented other game elements like the tutorial menu system and level transitions.
