Development of Rooty Isles
Rooty Isles was developed in the Unreal Development Kit by a team of 8 developers in 8 weeks. Rooty Isles was designed as an altered Capture the Flag game mode with grappling hooks and floating isles.

Rooty Isles Level Design
Both sides of the map in Rooty Isles were mirrored copies of each other to ensure symmetrical balance. The moving isles in our level gave players dynamic gameplay strategies to use.

Creating Base Isles
The two base isles were on opposite sides of the level and is where players fought over the "flag."

Base Isles Visuals
Natural environmental art assets were used to create the beautiful scenery of Rooty Isles.

Rooty Isles Theme/Mood
The contrasting base isle themes were created mainly to distinguish one side of the level from the other.

Small Isles
Small isles were designed as stepping stones to help players maneuver around the environment.
